Amethyst Place, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation, is entirely funded by donations and grants from the community.
Nearly every dollar you contribute goes directly to caring for the families who find shelter at Amethyst Place.
Every Board member works for free, volunteering their time to help the women and children who come to us to heal.
Your Donation Can Make a Difference!
Join us in the campaign to provide a safe, supportive environment for these families. There are a number of ways to make a donation to Amethyst Place and contribute to its mission to support the recovery and enhanced quality of life for drug-affected families in Kansas City. There is so much you can do - make a financial contribution, donate goods and services or volunteer your time.

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine having the opportunity to start over…….Homeless no more, reunited with your children, solid plan in place to ensure your continued progress in making positive life choices.

Imagine walking into a fully furnished home complete with fresh, new beds for everyone in your family. New beds may be a common experience for most of us. However, this is often the first bed our Amethyst Place children have ever had. All too frequently, they have spent their young lives sleeping on the floor, the sofa or in a car – an unsanitary, unhealthy bed. Amethyst Place women and children are always excited to move in and start a clean and sober life. Having their own home has a significant impact on these families. Each apartment may need up to four mattresses. Will you help us meet our 2012 goal of placing new mattresses in our apartments? Miranda, an Amethyst Place Mom, said it best: “The first time I put my kids into their own beds was one of the happiest days of my life.”

There are several available levels for this giving opportunity – Please also know any amount will be helpful:
$200.00 gift will purchase 1 NEW double mattress (box springs and frame included)
$160.00 gift will purchase 1 NEW twin mattress (box springs and frame included)
$125.00 gift will purchase 1 NEW crib (mattress included)
$50.00 gift will purchase bedding Amethyst Place furnishes each apartment with gently used recycled furniture.
